Easter Choral Course at Great Malvern Priory 3rd – 5th April 2024
We would like to offer you this opportunity to come and sing with us for 3 days in the magnificent setting of Great Malvern Priory.
With the cathedrals of Worcester, Hereford and Gloucester all nearby, it’s very easy to forget that another majestic church stands nearby at Great Malvern. The lovely town stands, surrounded by the beautiful Malvern Hills and, at its heart is the priory, with its Norman and Romanesque architecture.
The priory was a Benedictine monastery from 1075-1540 and was originally built to house only 30 monks. It has the largest display of 15th-century stained glass in England, as well as carved miserichords from the 15th and 16th century and the largest collection of medieval floor and wall tiles.
It it to this wonderful location that we will be travelling for our Spring 2024 course. Crucially, it’s considered one of the warmest churches in the country.
With leadership from our Musical Director Jeff Stewart, the priory’s own organist, Piers Maxim, and Jonathan Hope of Gloucester Cathedral, we will be leading you through 3 days of joyful music making, which we hope not only help develop your singing, but will bring a sense of something extra special to your life.

The aim of all our courses is to give you a safe atmosphere in which you can step outside your comfort zone and learn new and better vocal and performance techniques, and an approach which will make life feel more joyful.

Stanford, Dum Transisset Sabbatum by John Taverner, Anton Bruckner’s Christus Factus Est, Let All The World In Every Corner Sing by Vaughan Williams, and Bob Chilcott’s arrangement of Now The Green Blade Riseth
We have arranged 3 night’s accommodation for you, on a bed, breakfast and evening meal basis at Malvern College, which is just 5 minutes walk away. The rooms are ensuite. You arrive on the evening of 2nd April, in time for dinner, ready to begin work the next morning. We only have 70 of these places available so book early to avoid disappointment.
